Brought in as a contract creative director to rescue a high-stakes branded presentation from a looming deadline — providing fast, decisive direction across layout, animation, audio, UX flow, and ADA compliance.
Deadline in Danger
The Situation
A contracted branding presentation was at risk of missing its deadline. The team needed fresh-eyed, experienced feedback across layout, color, audio, interface design, tone, UX flow, and overall aesthetic — all simultaneously.
My Role
I was brought in to provide fast decision-making, alternate solutions, and experienced creative direction. Managing time and maintaining team momentum through positive motivation was as critical as the design decisions themselves.
Directing the Motion

Readability & Flow
Previous map colors made data difficult to read. I directed the designer to reverse the color scheme to a dark mode treatment, guided the addition of an animated weather map, and shaped the flow and pacing to demonstrate improved mesh network coverage across a wider geographic area.

Animated Information
Successfully championed animated data appearances throughout the presentation — transforming static data slides into dynamic, attention-holding moments that reinforced the narrative and made complex technical information immediately legible.
Refining the Screens

ADA Compliance
Continuously adjusted typography, contrast, and layout throughout the project to maintain ADA compliance — ensuring the presentation was accessible to the broadest possible audience.

Layout
Directed the design team to introduce visual activity to the right-hand side of key slides, improving compositional balance and giving the eye intentional places to land.
- 03
Chat Prominence
Identified that the chat interface needed to be more visually prominent to effectively communicate the platform's collaborative functionality — a key selling point — and directed the redesign accordingly.
Delivered on Time
Despite a compressed timeline requiring simultaneous refinements across animation, interface design, audio, and accessibility — the deadline was met. The Lumen team delivered a polished, cohesive branded presentation to their client on schedule.
